We started to create in a small village in Morocco
to make everyone happy

DAR AMAL（ダールアマル）は、2010年からモロッコの小さな村での女性自立支援をきっかけにモノづくりを始めました。昔から女性たちによって作り続けられている伝統刺繍は、彼女たちの生きてきた人生そのもの。それをカタチにしながら、作る側も、使う側もそして、社会全体も幸せなモノづくりを目指しています。

DAR AMAL started our handcrafting business back in 2010 in a small Moroccan village first as a local women's independence support activity. Their traditional embroidery all handwoven by local women since ancient times is their living proof. Our goal is to turn the traditional technique to products to bring craftsmen, users and the whole society a happiness.

有田・波佐見焼の環境で

Porcelain stone grinding sound by waterwheel echoes in the neighborhood. Slowly driven cars are transporting pottery doughs. Friends and acquaintances are related to porcelain industry. Our usual conversation topics, porcelain and handcrafting. Thais cup was born carrying so much thoughts and beliefs both from Japan and Morocco. It all began with my unique growing up environment, then my moving experiences watching Moroccan people's living figures with handcrafting, and reminglement with my hometown craftworkers which brought me back to the starting line.
近所には、水車で投石を砕く音が響いていて、ゆっくりと走る車は生地を輸送している。知り合いは、やきもの産業に携わる人ばかりで話題は、やきものの話で、モノづくりの話。そんな環境で育ったからこそ、モロッコの人たちのモノづくりで生きる姿に感動し、また改めて故郷の職人さんたちに触れて、原点に回帰しながら、日本とモロッコの想いが重なる、そんなコップの誕生となりました。

People living by handicraft

Hammering sound echoing in town comes from a cabinetmaker. All of his neighbors are likewise furniture workers. Helping each other, they work on clients' custom-made items. Handmade furnitures are simply spectacular. DAR AMAL side table, a collaborative production with these craftsmen, its artisanal legs are so alluring unlike souvenir products.

The tray pattern is respectively hammered by a craftsman with a traditional technique which he inherited from his grandfather's generation. His craft mastery, a large aluminum board's transformation shaped by inches, is stunning. This is not only useful as a tea tray, but also as a drum on such an occasion as a family gathering. If there's an instrumentalist in the member, this instant drum surely adds characters to the player's beautiful tone. The longer it's used, the deeper the precious time spent would be engraved over beautiful patterns.
トントントン、と街に響く音は、家具屋さん。まわりの店はみんな家具を作っている。それぞれ助け合いながら、それぞれの顧客のオーダーメイドを製作する。一つ一つ、手作りで作られる家具は見応えがある。その職人さんたちと製作したお土産品ではない、職人のテーブルの脚は、美しいものああります。

トレイは、祖父の代から伝統技術を受け継いだ職人さんが一つ一つ打ち付けながら模様を描いていく。大きなアルミの板を少しずつ変形しながら成形する技術はお見事。お茶をのせるトレイとして、また家族が集まった時は、音楽と共に、太鼓になって美しい音色に加わったりする。長く使えば使うほど、描かれた模様がまたいい時間と共に刻まれていく。
